I know that the site gets a lot of "do you know any good pest control companies in my area" questions. To make everyone aware, Bed Bug Central has started a new initiative called Bed Bug Free (BBFree). Pest control companies across the United States and perhaps, in the future, world can submit their bed bug protocols and fill out the application and become BBFree approved if their protocol meets Bed Bug Centrals core philosophies (use of encasements, not just relying on pesticide, follow-ups are mandatory, etc...).

This will also be a great resource to use to find good bed bug service companies in your area.

Right now the program has just started and there are only a few companies up but many have applied and a few are pending approval.

How do I find the application on the site? I would like to review it and possibly fill one out.

Killer, if you PM me your contact information I can have the representative from our company contact you and provide you with all the information. I was involved with the development of the application but we have a rep who's been in contact with everyone that's applied. I would love to see you apply and get approved as we get a lot of calls from the NYC area and would love to have someone to refer.

Eatenalivenh, JP Pest is a great company. If you have any issues getting in touch with the people there let me know and I can help.

Great idea, hopefully it can be the start of getting some assured standards developed for bed bug specialist work in the US.

Without generating standards as an industry we leave ourselves doomed to have them legislated onto us and that is not always the best way forward.

    Good luck.

Would you please explain what this statement from the website means:

"Sorry, There are not any Bed Bug Free Companies in OH. However, we can recommend some Best-In-Class Pest Control companies that may meet your needs. Please understand that these companies have not gone through the bedbugFree process, and their Bed Bug Protocol is not endorsed by BedBugCentral.com."

What qualifies the pcos to be "Best-In-Class"? Are they just paying for the advertising or do they have to meet some standard (and if so, what is the standard)? I would love to look into one of these pcos to treat our bedbugs, but I need to know what makes them better at treating bed bugs than the hundreds I can look up in the yellow pages.

This sounds like a great idea, and I hope it is successful in producing competent pcos everywhere.
