A few people have wondered if bed bugs were not biting more during their menstrual periods, but I don't think this has been studied. If they are, it's probably not the smell of blood, since we're told they are not attracted to wounds, just to heat (combined with C02). (But there could be some other factor, who knows?)

Changes in core body temperature maybe? Women with suppressed immune systems / autoimmune disorders for example tend to run low grade fevers with their periods.

At least I figure that's why I get bit more during my period either I have REALLY good timing and I'm synching my cycle to PCO treatments and new ones feasting in larger numbers building back up... or the fever I run. I am a bigger target of yummy blood sackedness radiating all that extra heat. I wonder if anyone has done sleeping studies with couples and body temperature to see if that impacts how often people get bit... or if one person gets bit more than others... or where people get bit...
