My mosquito bites and my bed bug bites look very very similar. They're about the same size, the same amount of redness, and last for about the same amount of time. However, I get pretty bad itchiness when I get mosquito bites, and no itchiness for bed bug bites (this has been determined since when I first found my infestation, I had a fairly large mess of bites on the back of my arm which was red didn't itch at all, and 3 bite tests I did on different areas). I guess I'm the weirdo going against the curve of "my bed bug bites itched WAAY more than my mosquito bites."

From what I understand (and, please please correct me if I'm wrong), bed bugs insert their two tubes, one for sucking blood and other containing a numbing/anticoagulant agent, yes? If people have an allergic response, is it to the agent, or to the bite, do you know? And, do mosquitoes have that same numbing/anticoagulant agent, a different one, or none at all? Perhaps I'm more allergic to the mosquitoes "saliva" than the bed bugs, but who knows...

    Thanks!
