I recently went on holiday to Greece and the day after getting back, had several itchy bites. These have been getting less severe (less of a reaction) but still happening since then. I boil washed my bedding (90C) and it was covered in brown/black smears. I haven't noticed any skins or blood or black spots when the bedding is on the bed, just the odd stuff when I wash the bedding. One part of the smear looked like a bug, but it had been boiled, so I can't really compare it to the pictures. I've bought traps, but they're empty. Any ideas?

You can keep inspecting for fecal stains and other signs (and post a photo of you think you find something). You can also have a professional inspection at home. It isn't clear how long this has been going on. If you've been back a very short time, it may be harder to find signs, but it's also possible you didn't bring anything home.

I started and run the site but am "not an expert."
