I can't tell if these are bed bugs or cockroaches. Can someone please identify them for me?

    Neither. They are beetles.

The Dr identified the exoskeleton or the bites? Because if it's the latter, that's not possible. The only way you can be sure you have bed bugs is direct evidence, eg, bugs, shed skins or feces. Did a professional ID the exoskeleton you found?

The dr put it under a microscope (even though she was pretty much sure before hand). Indiana has a bad epidemic & she has lots of experience. I also took a poop sample i found on her matress & futon frame.

My daughter has asthma, and even though she only had a few bites, she got really sick. When tgey did the allergy scratch test on her, the only animals she is allergic to was bed bugs, & cats. We burned her bed & the carpet in her room...totally re-did her room. We also got rid of a lot if toys...which she was growing out of anyways. The bed bugs made her so sick, I've never seen her that bad. She had to go on prednisone for ten days, & had to have 4-5 abuterol nebulizer treatments/day...along with her nightly maintenance inhaler. She also has a cream they gave us for the bites.

They are beetles of Family Carabidae and they're generally predators of other arthropods...
