Still struggling to figure out what I have, and was hoping for your opinions.

First photo is a spot/stain found on my white t-shirt after getting out of bed. Over the past month I've seen 3 similar spots on my sheets or pillowcase. They are faint black, with a single dot followed by a short faint black line. Always appear to absorbed into material (no hard surface or distinct edges).

My impression was fecal spots tended to be darker, rounder, with slight raised surface, and no 'line'.

And I found this insect in the outer rim of a Climb Up. It is too small to be an adult bed bug.

Your sample appears to be a mite.

Thanks! Quick web search shows velvet mites get up to 4mm, so seems reasonable. Appears that bird and rodent mites are much smaller than this 2mm item.

Anyone have a comment on the possible fecal spotting?
