    Hi all,

I'm a university student living in a hostel...My arms and legs have these weird bites but I'm not sure where they're coming from. I've checked my mattress and found no bed bugs but maybe i'm just paranoid..

The rashes/bites first appeared 2 weeks ago when we visited a house of an old folk as part of our community service project. We saw fleas in his house and everyone of us had rashes afterwards....so we assumed that it was that...

Then last Sunday, We went to visit him again, but this time we stayed in an open area...Immediately after the session, my arms started to feel itchy and there was a bit of swelling..but i ignored it..

This is what it looks like on Monday

I went to my GP and he gave me a cream to apply which worked.. (brought the swelling down)

    The bite after 3 days

But today,I noticed a new bite on my thigh..

No one, including dermatologists, can conclusively identify what kind of bug made a particular bite. Good, experienced docs can tell you wha general family of bugs made the bite, but that's it.

Go read the FAQs on whether or not you have bed bugs, paying particular attention to both the signs of bed bug infestation and other pests that cause bites or bite like responses that bed bugs are often confused with.

Your best bet is to learn the signs to look for--bugs harboring near or in hidden parts of the bed, fecal spotting on bed linens and/or nearby objects. Look for those signs rather than trying to figure it out from the bites themselves.
