Hi folks!
I have been away from the forums since Friday due to a health issue (and emergency surgery). Nothing serious, but it was a sudden thing and I could not deputize anyone to clear the spam filter and such.
Thanks for your patience!

Yikes, glad you're alright! I was wondering, especially when you didn't post the NYT article right away.
Feel better soon! -
I'm glad it was nothing serious, and I'm happy to hear that you're back.
-
Hope you will get better soon!

WB Nobugsonme. I hope you're feeling better and have a speedy recovery.

Thanks, guys! I appreciate it.

NoBugs, sorry to hear your news and hope you are feeling better! I bet you checked that hospital bed???
Can see it now: Joking here if you are up for it!
NoBugs: "I'm not getting on that gurney until I check it out with my flashlight and magnifying glass!"
Hospital Doctor: "Nurse, she doesn't need surgery...I think she needs to go to the psych ward."
NoBugs: "Are you on the bedbug registry list? How often do you check this place out for bed bugs?"
etc, etc. -
Myworstfear,
Unfortunately, wasn't in much position to inspect or argue. I was relieved not to experience any apparent bites. And the setup seemed pretty good. In insitutional settings, a lot down to design (beds, mattresses) and hygiene I suspect.
If someone before you brought bed bugs in, your only hope is that they were spotted or cleared away in the change between patients.
(And I suspect units where people are bringing toys, blankets, pillows, etc. -- pedes, maternity, sleep study centers) are at more risk. My neighbor and I had minimal belonings stored in a certain way.
But you know, even with all the other worries of pain and surgery, bed bugs were on my mind!

NoBugs, I'm sorry you had pain and hope you're feeling much better now. If I could (and I couldn't figure out how) I'd post some get well flowers here!!! So please accept these "invisible" flowers as a get well token. At least imaginary flowers don't come with carpet beetles on them, lol!

Hope you feel better, nobugs. Happy to hear you're doing okay.

Welcome back. I missed you and noticed you were away from the blog but had hoped you were just on a short vacation. Hardly a vacation! (And there's never a vacation from bedbugs. Arrgh, having to think of them in the hospital.)
