I walked into my home today and saw this bug crawling on my jacket. I got a pretty good photo, and I'm genuinely wondering what it could be, because I have never seen a bug quite like it. It's flat like a bedbug, but not the right color. Near its middle it seems to have a metallic spot, but under the magnifying glass it looked more like they might be wings. Any ideas? http://s1035.photobucket.com/albums/a431/peppy815/?action=view&current=DSC08364.jpg

Oh, I should have been clear. Definitely not a bed bug. I'm just curious as to what it is.

Wow, I got caught in yout photo bucket and couldn't get bakc here by hitting the back arrow???

    Your bugs:

    > The 1st bug photo is not detailed enough for me to tell for sure however, it appears to be a hemiptera which is a "true bug". These critters fold their wongs across their backs which forms an X like pattern. Such bugs include plant bugs and others. Thye have piercing sucking mouth parts.

    > The other bugs i saw in your photos are spider beetles.

Hope this helps ! paul b.

Thanks. I just looked up hemiptera and I'm sure that's what I had. Now I am terrified it is from the triatominae family. When I realized it wasn't a BB I let it out on my patio. Now I'm scared it will make its way back in. If anyone has a good idea of family/type of bug (just for the first bug in my feed), I would love to hear.

Relax, it was definitley NOT a triatome nor is it tryiong to get back into your house to get you either.

It's a friggin bug and they so not have problem solving abilities, they just act on instinct.

The critter you have is looking to feed on plants.

Hope this helps ! paul b.

Thanks. That made me feel better. Sometimes it can be easy to go a little bit off the rails.

Yup, or the deep end too !

Some people have bed bugs and others have head bugs, there's a huge difference.
