anyone use a HOT AIR GUN instead of dry steamer???
(Silly question- hair dryer ever work in a pinch???)
Industrial grade hot air guns, sold in Home Depot, claim+to be very hot and project with great pressure...
will they do the trick???

PS:
I got about one hour of sleep last night...wound up trying to sleep in a chair and slumped over on the kitchen table.

Gotta dosomething fast for tonight!!!!I am still speculating on the hot air gun, industrial grade:
I just realized that the gun may shoot air with such force that loose bugs are blown away and may not be killed...anyone have that experience? Maybe they have speed controls independent of heat setting???
Perhaps gun may be useful, how for imbedded (pardon the pun) bugs, deep in caverns and crevices...

Too hazardous. They put out temp in excess of 500F many up to 900F. Mega fire hazard and can cause release of toxic fumes if you don't catch stuff on fire.

The force of the air from a hair dryer is just going to blow bugs around before killing them. The heat at the end of that forced air isn't hot enough either I don't think. Too risky in makinga much bigger spread of bugs, imo

Unfortunatley as Jim previously advised using an industrial heat gun can easily result in being included in the next edition of "Report from Engine Company 82". Too HOT too FAST. In a pinch a hair dryer may help but may also blow the suckers around, a vacuum with a brush may be a way to go or try putting a towel down and using an iron. In a pinch there is also limited use of alcohol or murphys.
