   I'm in Ottawa too.

   Since you're with the media... what do you think about the fact that my landlord won't let me move out of the apartment without getting someone to sublet from us?

   I feel horrible inflicting this on someone else, but I can't deal with it so I'm going to do it!

   OMG, *don't do that*! Go to the Landlord/Tenant board. I think you can almost certainly get out of the lease. You just need to show that the Landlord is not living up to his responsibility to rid the property of pests. Please, *please* look into that before you inflict this problem on anyone. A woman in Ottawa recently overdosed on sleeping pills (maybe accidentally, maybe not) because of her on-going bed bug problem. You seriously don't want something like that on your conscience.
