Anyone have experience with Terminix?(1 post)
I've had bedbugs since May ( about four months to be exact). No one in my family reacts to bites, so we found out we had them when the became visible, meaning the infestation was already substantial. We initially treated with Hot Shot Max and Ortho Home Defense Max as well as DE. My wife and I also do regular spot treatments and remove any eggs and live bugs we see by hand and seal them in a bag. We do this so we can try different treatments on them. We also don't isolate our bed, and we sleep in them every night, basically using ourselves as bait so not to spread them. So far, we've managed to keep the infestation very contained, but we have to be diligient, which is why we still have them I believe. We went a couple of weeks with no treatments and they came back with a vengence. I believe 95 percento more of our infestation is located to the headboard, but it is wooden and allows the bugs to hide deep within it. We would have sought professional help sooner, but we live in a rural area, and exterminators are limited to basically Terminix. I have dealt with them before, and have never been impressed with their services, we had more success combating household pests with the ortho home defense. However, this situation is different, we called them and it is going to be over 1200 dollars to do just the bedrooms and they give a 60 day guarantee. They use a deep freeze method, I'm sure some of the more technical folks on this board have heard of. I am just wondering how well that works. We really don't have that kind of money, but we wil have to do something soon, but I can't justify spending it if we have no guarantee of long term success.
