I know mixing belongings with those of others having bedbug problems may set alarms off everywhere, but I'm gonna trust the effectiveness of vicane gas. I recently contacted Bed Bugs and Beyond in NYC to get a quote for a moving truck vicane gas treatment and it is $1200 for up to a 26' long trailer. Aat first I was hopeless because there is no way I could afford that. But thinking again, I realized that I don't have nearly enough belongings to fill up a 26' truck, so I was wondering if I could find 2-3 other people who may be willing to share a moving truck and split the cost of a vicane gas treatment, which would bring down the cost to about $300-400 a person.

Once again, there will surely be people who warn against mixing belongings with other victims, but the risk is a small price to pay if vicane is actually as effective as it is advertised.

Please send me a private message if you live in the NYC area and may be interested in my proposition. I would be interested in going through with the procedure sometime in mid-June.

    Thanks

Not a bad idea as long as you trust the provider AND your fellow Bedbugger and you follow protocols perfectly. Also take care when unloading -- everyone must be 100% clean when they turn up to unload. Don't use any handtrucks, blankets, etc. If they were not treated. Maybe others will have additional advice.

Not sure if you still need to share a truck but if you do, you may want to consider a different option that still utilizes the vicane gas treatment. We have small fumigation vaults that can be used.

My concern isn't the need for a truck but rather that the minimum cost is $1200 to treat the very few belongings that I have. Will they charge a lower fee if I use a fumigation vault?

I'm moving next month so I'd love to find a cheaper option soon.

Stephanie - you really should disclose all the information related to your company. According to your website you use Bed Bugs &Beyond to fumigate - i did not know that they use vault chambers

Are BB&B any more effective with their vault chamber treatments than truck based treatments?

their truck based treatments are a waste of money

    stephanie c,

As you will know from the Terms and Conditions of use, advertising on the forums is against the rules.

Mentioning the company you represent is fine, as is mentioning it or answering questions about it in context such as this.

You can put a link to your company in your profile, but please do not start posting them in your subsequent posts (once is OK). Also, make sure the URL works. That one, I note, does not.

BTW I looked into the bedbug busters website.

According to the website, the business's parent company is Moving Right Along:
    http://bedbug-busters.com/Work.html

Another post (tagged Moving Right Along) notes that this company, at least, had a practice of Vikane gassing items once, moving them into storage, gassing them with Vikane a second time, then moving them to your home. Not sure if bedbug busters does that too, but would be interested to know.
