So I have hit a couple milestones. It has been 6 months since I escaped the old apartment and the BB's thanks to having vikane done. I also have just gotten back from my first trip since the BB's. Who cares if everything was packed in plastic and I unpacked in the bathroom tub on arrival there (my sister's) and back at home.

I also went to my first movie theather in over a year (a BIG milestone for me). Who cares if the clothes I was wearing immediately went into ziplocs and were then washed and dried on high.

I think I'm finally getting back to a semi-normal life. I just did my monthly check and for the 6th month found nothing.

Anyone else out there please post if you also have had success escaping these little devils. It's the holiday's and some people could use hope that they may also finally escape from them.

    Thanks,

    Tony

    hey folks,
sorry i'm not around so much anymore, it's been a hectic term.

i moved out of my old building (where there had been a bedbug infestation) last february. i think the infestation might have been already gone by the time i moved (i had two PCO treatments) but can't be sure. it was only a light infestation. and a month after i moved to my new place i had my new place inspected by a bb dog and there was nothing. :)

so i've been 10 months bb free and counting. i know it seems some days as though it will never end, but you will get through it! just hang in there, keep up with the laundry protocols and don't forget to go out and have some fun once in awhile! it can do a world of good just to get away from the house and relax for a few hours. <3

    Hi all,
I'm in the same era as the above,it was war and I won(thru sheer persistance),and yes there were many times I thought I was going to have to live w/ bb's forever(shudder).I've been free since Aug. and still wakeup at 4am like clockwork. It was such a battle but freedom is here.I hope to never have them again, ever.Too much of a worthy adversary! All of you still fighting it can be done, just be persistant and you will win.

Well, I may be a bit premature here, but I feel like posting will help make it real. Our last treatment was Oct. 21, and we have not had any bites or signs since two weeks before that. We are slowly starting to hang clothes back up in our closets and have washed out the dresser drawers and putting clothes back in there (we never found any bugs other then our big storage bed). We haven't moved anything back into the storage bed yet -- I want to wait longer for that, even though it's been nearly three months. We have hung up our winter coats in the downstairs closet like "normal" people and leave some of our shoes unbagged in there. Lots of our clothes and shoes are still in plastic bags and will stay so, and we still have a whole drying protocol for clothes, but we're trying to move on.

We know we had a smaller infestation, and luckily live in a standalone home, so I feel like we might be rid of this thing. I had a few terrible scares with red, itchy, raised patches that were nothing like my original bites, but it appears that the dry, cold air in my new city and my usual allergies and sensitivity have given me eczema. Weird that this makes me happy. (c: My partner has no problems at all, and she had very strong reactions and swelling to the bites.

So, I hope we are finally free, though I feel like the fear and paranoia will never really go away. I want to thank everyone on this site -- I don't know how I would have gotten through this without the people and information here. You guys rock! Here's to hoping that we will all have our success stories!
