Hi all. Cleaning out my son's closet, I found one or two tiny black spots on the top of the shoulder of a white ski coat that was hung up. I used finger nail to see if it was dirt, and spot smeared brown and had a slight sticky texture. Peroxide removed the spots altogether. Now this is similar to spots I have found in my room on the pillow and in my night stand (I have confirmed BB's). However, kid has no bites and no evidence and his climbups are empty. Inspection last week revealed nothing in his room.

So before I jump to conclusions, would this be consistant with spider droppings? Since it was on the top of the coat and not in a crevice or zipper, would it make more sense to be from another bug?

BTW, the coat is in the Packtight as we speak.

Unless you can see spider webs in the top of the closet, I think it is much more likely to be from a fly. I wouldn't expect to find signs of bedbugs a long way from the bed without signs of bedbugs in the immediate vicinity of the bed as well.

    IMHO nothing to worry about.

Spider droppings are acidic and tend to stain.

As Richard said likely a fly but there are many roaming spiders that leave no webs behind.
