We had a K9 inpsection day before yesterday. The dog/handler team seemed very professional, competent, and thorough.

The handler was kind enough to tell me immediately that the dog had given no bedbug alerts in my apartment (but there had been indications that my apt. was hosting a specimen of felis catus domestica - I had suspected there might be something like that ).

    That's the good news.

The bad news is that the neighbor directly across the hall from me does have bedbugs - apparently bedbugs aplenty, in both the bed and the sofa. They are planning to heat treat soon, but I'm not sure how soon.

The question is: will bedbugs fleeing the heat cross the six feet of hallway and enter my apartment?
Should I be sealing my entire living quarters into a giga-XL ziplock bag? Raising up (extremely thin) ramparts of DE? (Trying to squeeze the blood of information from the impervious stone of our apartment managers?)

    Hello,

I understand your anxiety. I seriously doubt the pest control company will do anything in treating one apartment that would jeopardize surrounding units. You could ask if the PCO will be bringing the canine back to inspect the infested apartment post-treatment. If yes, perhaps you could request to have your apartment re-inspected. If you know the name of the pest control company, you could also call and ask them what measures they take to protect adjacent dwellings.

I just spoke to the neighbor in question. Apparently all she's been told is that the PCO will be treating "sometime next week."

I am about to get really angry on both her behalf and mine
