I am reposting this since the old title might hide it (it's not about ERRORS Fixed!)

    I did cut something--which I'm a bit loath to do--I could, just tosee ....
On a + note, placing it into a more appropriate area is great--but on the downside--you are going to wind up with multiplying dups like wall lice if we all start cutting and pasting things everywhere--like all my little brown dots
you'll be forever deleting them. But y am I always the barer of bad news? your fabulous and I think the ;) you are now using more frequently are helping.
I did get a pm that stated something to the effect that they were getting into trouble. I too felt a bit lashed out at--but u and I worked that out n'est pas? We agree that hamsters don't eat bugs, bugs eat hamsters ;)

    ------------------------------------

    Willow,

Thanks for your message and good humor! A lot of what I am going to say is for everyone else (not really Willow), so I am posting it in a new thread.

I am sorry you felt lashed out at (though yes I think it was resolved). Please, everyone, take my words at face value--and if they seem mean, ask me about them (as Willow has done), rather than feeling bad in silence. Perhaps I was trying to be humorous and it misfired.

In any case, I have tried to be clear that no one is "in trouble." If people feel like I am giving them a hard time, they should PM me or email me directly. Chances are, it wasn't intended. I hope that people will realize that how we read someone's words is not always the light in which they were offered (using a wink ;-) like this was intended to show my humor, but apparently someone was hurt anyway.)

People also often don't realize how much time the site can take and that sometimes I have to respond quite quickly. A long message like the one I am currently writing can take me 1/2 hour, since I think about what I am saying, and how, and I even edit out mistakes. (That's crazy, I realize, but I work with words, and I just can't usually bring myself to hit "send" if things are awry.)
I do welcome any and all private messages and email, and anyone who has corresponded with me would (I hope) say I was not, in fact, a big meanie. (I know Willow knows that, since we email often.)

But I am busy, and I hope people would not take offense easily if sometimes my thoughts are not expressed with the utmost clarity.

The only reason I have asked people to start new topics when they feel its warranted, is because it happens often that we participate in a discussion and then later (even weeks later) have something to add. So if the topic is called "garbage picking" and you talk about hamsters in it (just as an example), then a few weeks later, have more ideas about hamsters to add, you may well forget which topic it was posted in.

On the other hand, I realize its natural that lots of things come up in a topic and you can't start a new thread for each. I am not going to lose any sleep over it!

What you can do when you want to (and this was my original point--when YOU want to, you can start new topics), start a new thread. Or, if you prefer, add "tags" to the post so people know its now just about "furniture" and "mattresses" but also "hamsters". If everyone keeps an eye on the tags, then this would solve the problem I'm describing too.

One other thing: I don't actually have time to move posts for everyone, so I hope you'll do this when you feel its warranted. Willow--you're right that we don't want to leave duplicates everywhere, but it also is true that some stuff might be relevant to the original thread. I don't know exactly what happened when you tried to "cut" so let me see if I understand. You are able to copy and paste, but you do not get an option to edit your messages, or you don't get the option to delete your messages? Or both?

Thanks for the feedback, Willow. I hope others will speak up when they have a concern. I really don't bite.

actually...we can edit our own posts/ once we put the post up there whether we started the thread or just commented...if we check on our post we will see the word "edit" under it. that gives us the option to change something we wrote. i'm not sure how long that option exists but i know i've used it a few times.

yes that was the part that was missing. I knew I had something wrong when I wrote this to nobugs.... Thanks WMSB. The edit feature lasts a while ... sometimes up to 20 minutes or so. I use it often!
