    I found this and captured it in a clear container. I don't really believe it is a bedbug, since it doesn't have those bands. but I'm concerned because I don't know what it is, can you help?

    pictures here might be a bit large

    Actually the bands are present since are abdominal segments and insects have them - not unique to bed bugs. They are visible on the ventral view. They would be visible on the dorsal view, but the wing covers are closed and you can't see them. A female black carpet beetle.
