What is that powder De or limestone? Never seem it in a store?
This is not the only thing that will kill them and it is misleading to most new folks.
That power is soppose to be lightly dusted, you are not to breathe it in.
What about if you have pets. What about the bugs that can be in your clothes ? The books , the rest of your stuff. My old roomates believed as many do , that they are only in beds and that is NOT true.
Thank you though it will help somewhat to all those people who are new to an infestation. But they can not take on this bb infestation without a pro pco. Doing it yourself and only this on the bed, will not kill them all and then they will be letting there infestation grow as they think this is all they have to do. This is ONLY ONE of the things you can do. You need a pro...

BEFORE MY RESPONSE I DO WANT TO PROVIDE A WORD OF CAUTION.
FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEUOS EARTH(DE) IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE DE USED IN POOL FILTERS WHICH IS DANGEROUS.

The BedBugPowder is actually FOOD GRADE DE which is safe for Humans. There is a site called EarthWorksHealth that actually sells it for health reasons. After we got rid of the Bugs I did a few hundred hours of research :) Concerning books and other parts of your room. My primary intention was to protect where my Wife and I slept, seemed to make perfect sense to me. It has been close to 4 months without a single itchy bite.

Prayforamiracle is correct in that on the bottle they do recommend wearing a mask to prevent sneezing. Personally I tried a spray called Good Night and 3 other products and nothing worked, bottom line this BedBugPowder worked for us and was the ONLY thing to get rid of the Bugs. Having researched FOOD GRADE DE I thought to myself, "What could be safer than a product that can be used for human consumption?".

As far as danger to pets the EarthWorksHealth site actually sells DE DOGGIE TREATS.(Sounds pretty safe to me).

A very close friend called a PRO as in ORKIN they sprayed and steam cleaned and donated alot of money to have the Bed Bugs return. I am sure a lot of PROS would tell you not to trust any product and just give them a call and some $$$.

I wish I would have known about this stuff before I wasted my time and money.

I recommend everyone to do some simple research before calling the "Pros". The BedBugPowder or FOOD GRADE DE is a mechanical process that just works.
Sorry to sound like a salesman everyone, I just know what you guys are going through Bed Bugs are pretty traumatizing.

    Stephen70,

I do not have any knowlegde of the product you are recommending. If it is plain food grade DE, then it is a fine substance.

However, pretending to be a satisfied customer when you are actually associated with a product is against the rules of this forum. You need to read the terms and conditions of Bedbugger.com.

Your prior posts under another username were discreetly deleted for the same reason.

If you wanted to tell us the truth, that you are connected with the company that sells the stuff, and it works, that would be one thing, but please do not insult our intelligence.

About the video: I have some concerns with this.

First, the man in the video used way too much DE around the wheels of the bedframe. I would NOT call that a light dusting. If you apply it too thickly, bed bugs will simply avoid it.

Second, while food grade DE is a natural substance, it is not a good idea to breathe it or any dusts. (It is not nearly as unsafe for your lungs as pool grade DE, but still, you don't want to be breathing it in.) Therefore, putting it on the top of the mattress, as the demonstrator in the video suggests, is NOT a good idea. Ever sit or lay down on a powder, even under a sheet? What happens? Clouds of dust. Bad idea.

Finally, Prayforamiracle is right that the video suggests other methods will not work and only DE will.

This is false. Food grade DE as a mechanical killer can be a useful tool, but it takes 10 days to kill bed bugs, once they walk through it. And you may not reach all the bed bugs. For this reason, I would recommend people find a good PCO who knows bed bugs, and have them treat.

If you want to supplement with DE, ask your PCO first. They may already be using a dust. And even if they're not, you want to clear it with them because you probably have some kind of agreement or warranty and you would not want to void the warranty or interfere with the PCO's plan.

    Hi,

I posted a few health and safety comments on this videoclip when I was aware of it a few days ago.

Unfortunatly they have not been approaved. In summary I stressed the need to wear appropriate profective clothing when doing this kind of work, gloves and face mask at a least.

If they geniunly want to help people then they need to make sure they are advising them correctly.

    David
