   Hi - Vancouver, one of Canada's bedbug infested cities, will be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. I am not promoting this anti-poverty website per se, but I was taken by their choice of mascots including Itchy the Bedbug.

   The 2000 Sydney Olympics are infamous for their alleged contribution to the international diaspora of bedbugs. This is one area where I hope the Vancouver Olympics will fall short.

   Yup -- the same group did this last year too.

   There's also been a lot of press in Vancouver about the prevalence of bed bugs in the beleaguered Downtown East Side, and lots of articles quoting people who sleep rough to avoid bed bug infested housing they're otherwise entitled to.
