Hello all. My 2nd treatment will be 2 weeks ago as of tomorrow. Saw 1 BB on my bedroom wall which prompted the 2nd treatment. Was told by PCO it had not 'fed' which I took as a good sign. I have been sleeping on my pull-out couch since infestation started early July because I'm so scared to return to my bedroom. My pull-out & bed were treated during 1st treatment. Had Protect-a-Bed placed on the pull-out in between the 1st & 2nd treatments. Everything within proximity to bed was bagged removed laundered & ziploc'd. So why & how am I seeing bites show up with no signs on my pull-out?? Been checking anxiously every day. Are these bites showing up 14 days after perhaps a run-in with residual BB's left after 1st treatment?? I'm so scared they're in my car now & have been regularly spraying with high % alcohol the PCO gave me. I had bagged clothes in the car for a few weeks as I just couldnt get through them all until recently. Didn't think it was an issue as PCO confirmed the problem was based in my box springs. Leaving tomorrow on a previously scheduled holiday with a couple reddish-looking bites on my legs & a suddenly-appearing strange bump on my face. I am seriously at wit's end here. Can't relax or feel like I'm over this. The expense was one thing & now to STILL have bites even tho there are no signs, not even at work? Any ideas here? This is definitely one of the worst things I've ever gone through. Can't fully enjoy vacation tomorrow without knowing what's looming for me in my new apartment that I havent been able to enjoy yet. Hope you all have gotten successfully through this war in your homes. Everytime a new bite pops up I keep praying it's just from residual & it will soon be all over with, for good- only to have another one appear. Please help with any suggestions?

If you have time, read the Bite Primer sticky (in green). A lot of people have delayed reactions that can show up weeks later from the actual bite: stress, heat, etc. can bring these "bites" out.

Will definitely give that a read. I REALLY hope & pray that it's just a delayed reaction vs new BBs!!! Leaving tomorrow for vacation but will ask PCO if they reccommend a 3rd treatment. Thanks for your response theyareoutthere!

Have a good vacation. I can't remember which member it was, but they went on vacation...had no bites at all..came back...and bites started...they realized it was a combination of stress and their condo was hot...

Try to relax...you can do this...

Thanks for the kind words..perhaps that is the case since I haven't seen any sign of them @ home or in the car, aside from the bites. Eventually we'll win this 'war' & get them
Gone for good. It is very stressful feeling like they are 'everywhere'!

One of the posters on this thread stated 13 days. I think Loubugs has cited 19 days. Heat, stress, etc. impact. I reread the Bite Primer and it only had 2 mentions of delayed reactions.

Interesting to hear how different people's reactions turn out. I am at 14 days post 2nd treatment..but it's been very hot in NYC & have been running around stressed.

Oh, I just post articles. I would never post the video of the BBs being fed (he just refers to it in the post).

I'll quite posting old threads...thought you might find it useful..but it's late even for me!!! Have fun on your vacation.

You are lucky to be on vacation, I've had none. The thing to do is to not ruin your vacation by thinking about it 24/7. Just for the time of your vacation, leave it all behind and relax, ignore the delayed reactions, try not to try to figure out if it's new if it's old if you brought any ect ect.

Just block it and enjoy your vacation. Put aside the worry for when you come back.

I'm dealing with a 10 months plus infestation, so I know what the mental anguish is like and the anxiety the bugs create, but we must help ourselves by not creating additional anxiety on top of that.

Repeating that you are going crazy is really not helpful to you. (I know that because I was doing it myself).

I hope both of your situations get resolved soon

No harm in venting here and there, but Endless has a very good point. There's a book (actually probably 100 different ones) on meditation called Whereever you go, there you are...and it really hit home to me that I don't want to waste my present worrying about a possible future.

It's tough to balance being a responsible and concerned person with wasting your present. But, Endless is right..take a vacation from worry..you can do it when you get back.

I write 3 pages of stream of conciousness first thing in am and it's my time to get that worry crap out of my head (obviously working beautifully :(). It does limit the rest of the day.

You don't sound like you are OCD or being too obessessed with it, and you've lived with it.

Endless & theyareoutthere - you both make great points which I'll try to stick too! Will try to take my mind off this nightmare for the time being while I'm away. It's difficult to do but I don't want to spoil the time. Hope both of you are no longer dealing with this!
