1 bug no bites and still freaking out

   My girlfriend recently returned from 2 seperate business trips, about 4 weeks and 2 weeks ago. She is very vigilent about checking hotel rooms for bugs. Yesterday morning she woke up and felt something itching on her leg. She swatted it and found out that it was a bed bug. The apartment manager sent an exterminator to her place today and they performed a search where they did not see any evidence of bed bugs. They still fumigated the apartment. She has been washing all of her clothes all day and has gone and bought a mattress cover. Is there any advice someone can give us as to how concerned we should b about all this? There are no visible bugs in the bed or anywhere else for that matter. Are there any other steps we should be taking? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

   There's no guarantee they came from the trips. I would encourage the manager to have all adjacent units professionally inspected.

   If any further bites appear or bed bugs are spotted, make sure the PCO returns every 2 weeks or so until they are gone completely.
