NOTOBUGS - Lets see the scanned bug. I'll really like to see a bed bug that is scanned, I have a great picture that I took on my camera of a bed bug and with comparison to someone else on this forum who took a great picture of one it's good to use as reference for anyone. I will upload it, as soon as I can.

Thanks all!

I wasn't able to take a picture (I tried) but I was able to scan it. But, I am not able to upload the scanned file or send it via a PM. Does anyone know how I can do that?

DougSummersMS - Thank you!

There is an "actual size" photo from the Mississippi Department of Health showing an egg and all life stages. Whatever I caught is actually smaller than the egg in that picture.

I guess I should still have the PCO come out just to confirm and so that I can sleep better.

Color depends on the stage of development & feeding status.

That doesn't sound like a bed bug... There are a lot of good pictures available for comparison...

Unfortunately, I tried to take a picture to post but it's entirely too small - just 1 mm X 1/2 mm. The bug is brownish-red with two antenna like in a U or V shape - not to each side like I see on the pictures here. And it's oblong, not round with a clearly defined head.

Are the nymphs always translucent or can they be brownish-red as well?

I am in the process of moving into a new condo. I have had K9 inspections two times with the result "no sign of activity" - from two different Pest Control Company's. This morning, I found a tiny little brown bug in the lamp shade of a floor lamp in the living room. I was changing the light bulb and actually thought it was a piece of dirt. I have put the bug in double zip loc's and am now waiting for the PCO to call me back - although it's unlikely they can get here till Monday.

The bug is exactly 1 mm long and almost 1/2 mm wide. I was wondering if this is a nyph or some other type of bug and if some other type of bug, any ideas? The bug is brown - not translucent and really I thought it was a piece of dust or dirt at first. Then I picked it out with my finger and it started to move.

Please help as I am going crazy here.

One other thing, bed bugs were discovered 5 floors on the other side of the building. Could they have already moved 5 floors?
