It's not just the pesticide applicator who has to be licensed, they also need to work for or run a licensed business. Read <a href="http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/warning-if-you-hire-a-pco-on-the-forums-check-their-license">this thread</a> for more explanation.</p> <p>I was also curious that you told your co-worker only your room was infested and he came to treat it -- did he inspect the other rooms and the other apartment? An experienced PCO should do this.</p> <p>Sometimes the other units are a problem but probably not in a case like this where you're related. It's really hard to isolate where BB come from and it won't make them go away.</p> <p>This is not a solo effort, you need the leadership and cooperation of your family and (if you have any) neighbors and landlord (who has some obligations).</p> <p>WRT to your friend the part-time PCO. Is s/he licensed in NYS? What's his/her track record in ridding an entire apartment or house of BB? I killed it and a whole bunch of blood came out, okayyy I was grossed out so I decided to sleep on the living room couch. Couple days went by and I'm not taking this serious becuz remember I never experienced BBs. I'm on the phone talking to my friend and the conversation came up and he tells me the seriousness from it becuz he had them and what he went thru, now I'm scared and like whoa what should I do? I remembered that one of my co workers told me he is a licensed exterminator part time. So I went to him and told him I have them, I told him only my room have them, so he told me bag my clothes and wash everything in hot water u know the usual stuff u have to do. Now I live in a two family house with an attic and basement, so I told my family I have bed bugs, my father didn't beleive me and said I had fleas (yea ok). I was then criticized by my grandmother which really hurt. My co-worker then comes and works his magic, he had the suit on and everythig he was really professional. He said hebwas going to come and treat a second time, before he comes back, my father buys me a new bed and puts it in the room( he still not understanding how serious this is). I started panicking an told my co worker he tells me to buy a bed cover so I did. He came back and everything was fine I didn't have them anymore(wishful thinking).</p> <p>My grandmother moved into my room and I moved into hers, everything was good and dandy, my fren then told me she got them, I started thinking if I had got them from her she also works with me so I recommended our co-worker to her. Everything is great I took a trip to the Caribbean in July, spent the whole month there, life is great. I have a sexy tan and I have some things lined up. A day in august I'm getting dressed and I held up one of jeans and what do I see crawling on it? Yup, a freaking bb I got so mad I killed it and jumped on my bed an pulled back the seams and I see a flat one there. OMG not uh-freaking-gain. I got scared now to tell my family so I slept on the couch again scared as hell don't know what to say. I got the nerve to tell my grandmother she told me to handle it, that room became quarantined, I only went in it to charge my itouch on my computer and ran the hell out. We layer discovered them in other rooms, now my grandmother is blaming me, I brought them in the house, I just left and went to a bar and drank trying to drink it away. Didn't work had to go home an face the problems, LOL. Webought steri fab, bedlam, now the first floor have them also cuz my little bros use to be in my room playing my wii so I think one hitched a ride on one of them when they went back to their rooms. Just to make this shorter, the whole house went to the laundry, I moved to the basement, I put my clothes in suitcases, storage bins my shoes are outside in the dog house, LOL, I'm just trying to be as light as possible in case one followed me downstairs. I been so paranoid, everything that touch me I jumped, I was dreaming about bed bugs, when I go to the movies I be thinking they in the chair, on the bus, I'm extremely paranoid. Soooooooo last night I'm sleeping and I felt something bit me and I looked, saw nothing, looked back I saw one jetting trying to get away. Mother f er, I'm pissed off now 3 o clock in the morning Im running upstairs to the second floor kitchen (which is bug free...I hope) to get the steri fab, bedlam and ducttape, can't find the duct tape. Ran back downstairs and grabbed the 2 bed covers that I was suppose to put on but was being lazy, and put them on, the freaking thing tore then I realized I bought the cotton ones instead of the plastic and was a lil bit small. I got one on and went to sleep on my couch. When I woke up I went to the 99 cent store and bought 5 duct tapes and scotch tape. Came home sprayed my bed with steri fab andbedlam and covered them. Duct taped and scotch taped the rips, I vacumnned, sprayed my couch and just got back from the laundry. My grandmother then tells me my father have them in his room, LOL and I think it's a little bit funny cuz me and his wife don't get along and she have alot of wigs. LOL Im sorry if u think it's mean, but she been putting my father against me. So I'm waiting to see tonight if I get bit and I will keep y'all posted, if anyone is in the NYC area my co worker is very good and professional and email me if u want his number. He said when he treated my room they probably hid for a lil while and went to other rooms, but I don't think they started with me honestly, cuz I didn't have the big infestation, but the otherrooms, woo u shoulda seen the big ass nest on the beds. I might gotta call him in again if anything. </p>
