One of the reasons why its always best to deal with the issue and then move.

If you do move you carry a risk of transferring them to the new location and worst of all you leave a problem for someone else to move into.

If you find you have them please don't move stay and deal with it while it is still light.

Well actually I'm living in a new apartment. I just moved last week, and threw away everything that was infested, and most everything else. I washed all my clothes and inspected the heck out of dvds. I know I could have brought them with me, but when I had them before I was seeing live bugs, and it was a very mild infestation (I was told).

Hi Natalie,

Blood spots on sheets are bites are not definitive signs of infestations so neither of them would mean they are back.

I would say that both or either of them do justify a thorough and rigorous inspection of your sleeping area to look for confirming signs such as:

Fresh faecal traces

Fresh cast skins

live samples

I would however suggest that you educate all adjoining surrounding neighbours on the issue of bed bugs because a gap in activity can be a strong indication that you are either coming into contact with a source external to the home or that an adjoining unit is infected.

Hopefully it is neither and just a false alarm.

I have been 5 weeks bed bug free, with no signs of the little suckers, and today found blood on my sheets. It was about an inch long, and neither I nor my husband have any bites on us. (We always react to the bites) Am I paranoid, or are they back? I looked through our mattress (we have a new one, saw no signs of them.
