I will pm with my email, it wouldn't be the heat that caused the issue.

Richard56 - 28 minutes ago »
There are four 6" long thin medal rods (one in each corner) that have a slight bend at the end. You lift each of these rods over the black bottom grill to lock the unit into place. You reverse the process (pull up gently to unhinge) before folding the PackTite. If you failed to reverse the process, I could see how you could sever the triangular piece(s)

Yes, I usually manually take those slightly bent rods to lock and unlock. That's what I meant when I said I take the btm feet. I never just pull the sides up or push the sides down by the side frames.

And as i said before, last week was not a problem, but this weekend the oacktite was rather empty when i used it and when i started it yesterday, one side still had the triangles there but when i finished, it was in pieces on the btm of the bag BEFORE i tried to close it. Leaving me to believe the plastic got dried out by the heat and cracked. My packtite is probably a newer model as my rack is all stainless steel

Hmm, I usually lift the side frames up slowly and actually lock the legs into place by gently putting the btm feet into place. Yesterday, while one side was broken, the other side was fine, but when I finished baking and took my stuff out, I saw the grey plastic triangle broken in pieces in the btw of the bag.

That's why I thought maybe it got too hot because i didnt have enough stuff in it and it cracked into pieces.

Wanted to add that if that's the case, then I'm sure David James could send you out some spare parts as it just looks like they're attached by a nut and a bolt. In fact, you could probably make due with a nut, bolt and washer from the hardware store in the meanwhile.

Mine appear to be metal, not plastic, but it's hard to see -- anyway, if you're talking about the four small unpainted triangular plates to the outside of the open pipes, then the only way I can see they broke is if you tried to fold up the unit without releasing the four metal (unpainted) holders. They have to be released before you fold the unit or, yes, I could see how the triangular pieces might break.

They're triangular plastic things on the bottom of the the two shorter support bars/racks (the upside down U frames) that are attached to the base (main) rack. Without the plastic holding the frames, I can't snap the legs of the frames into place onto the base rack.

no...i never had this problem.

Hey wait a minute... i just looked at the inside of my PT again and i don't see any plastic triangle thingies on the inside. Am i missing something?

okay...i looked again thinking that the plastic things you're describing might have been transparant but i still don't see what you're describing. I think i have metal support braces. But why do i vaguely remember removing some plastic things when i first assembled my PT? I don't have a clear memory of that, however.

Just received my Packtite about two weeks ago and used it about 5 times. Weird thing happened this weekend. I folded the side support bars down and put it away on Saturday. When I took it out to use yesterday, both of the plastic triangle things on one of the support bars was broken. I was still able to use the Packtite. I didn't put much in it, but when I was done, one of the triangle things was all broken from the other support bar and was on the bottom of the Packtite. Did the heat cause the breakage because I didn't have alot/enough stuff in it? Last week when I used it, I put more stuff in it, (not packed but not as empty as I did this weekend) Did anyone else have this problem?
