old bites can flare up.

new bites can be in exactly the same spot. the key, though, is that some would doubtless be in NEW areas. so watch for that to happen, and then seek treatment if it does.

your reactions can change. before treatment, my reactions got much better. i think it was because i stopped scratching. bites after that were much smaller and often did not itch!

heat and humidity, dry skin, all of these can mess up your skin and make you itch more--and i believe they may affect old bites too.

I've pretty much done a bite map and taken photos of as many of my bites as I could. I'm glad I did since last night several of my old bites started itching, I think due to the heat, and I checked my photos and confirmed they were old. Today they are flat and itchless again.

None of my new bumps are itchy at all. I'm praying they are just heat related and don't want to call my PCO for no reason. Is there anyway I can tell for sure?

I've started monitoring friends and family as well. I'm sure they are thrilled when I point out a zit thinking it could be a bite.

Hi,

When I get cases where it is hard to track I ask people to do a bite map and record new activity on a daily basis.

Yes it is possible for old bites to flare up, I have found that there seems to be a link between:

Stress
Environmental pollution
Chitin hypersensitivity

Yes if you have a had reaction the mere presence of a bed bug skin or other insect may cause you to react as if you are bitten. Its one of the reasons why I try and do a home version of a chitin hypersensitivity test before conducting a 3rd treatment on a property.

I have really sensitive skin so I almost always have little bumps and such so I am finding it impossible to detect new bites.

I think I have heat rash because I have little dots that are sore and only mildly itchy and located in areas where sweat collects but who knows for sure.

Is it possible for your reaction to change in as little as 6 weeks? They used to itch like crazy.

I have a bite scar on my belly from maybe 5 months ago and sometimes it seems to itch... I don't know if it's psychosomatic or what, but it doesn't really matter.

My wife reacted to bites five months before I did and then my bites looked similiar to a rash, at least at times I thought they did.
It is all very abstract at times. I have pictures posted on flicker members pics of bites. My skin reaction started to happen after PCO sprayed. One morning I woke thinking that I felt something on my nose, I checked in the bathroom mirror and right before my eyes a small blood spot started to appear. Thinking back it all seems unreal.

Old bites flaring up is normal. Not everyone experiences this, but if you do, you might see them flaring up several times until eventually they stop and scab and become patently old bites.

I have about 50 bites that are still healing from 3 weeks ago and lately I've noticed that some of them are starting to raise up from my skin again.

At first I thought they were new bites but then compared new pics to old pics and realized that the new bites were in the exact same spots as the old ones.

Is this a normal reaction? Do the bugs have a tendency to bite old spots?
