Be sure to register the hotel incident anonymously. If you aren't comfortable giving details just list the hotel.
Many many folks travel to Disneyland and that area.

Orkin varies from place to place so someone having a good or bad experience does not necessarily reflect on your local branch. I have not heard of Orkin using eucalyptus leaves or bleach. Sounds the the Extension office may be a bit loopy.

The "Sealing process" may refer to sealing cracks -- which is important in attached homes or apartments (caulking and such can keep things from spreading). We hear it should be done AFTER treatment.

If I were you, I would discuss other options as well. IF you say where you are, people may have specific local recommendations. And thermal or Vikane treatment may also be available and it's worth pricing them just so you know.

I'm unclear what bleach does, other than make the user feel like s/he's being thorough.

A business's liability and/or willingness to compensate a victim should not depend on an insurance company's willingness to pay. If I hit your car, I owe you for the damage. My insurance protects me from having to pay out of pocket. If I have no insurance or if the damage is above the coverage limit, I owe. Perhaps that point can be emphasized to the vaccilating manager.

Most people are clueless and I suspect a lot of pros are too. I feel your pain.

Well my first home invasion! I have Orkin coming on the 15th.....$2000 to treat our entire house (4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 rec room) and currently doing the pre-treatment prep work....which I have to say Iam so glad I found this website and got a lot of the useful information from it...like running clean dry clothes on high for 5 minutes before sealing...gonna save me a lot of time! We picked up our unwanted guests from a hotel in SoCal very close to Disneyland. My only problem is my wife works for the chain and so I cant really sue them without risking her job....however I am holding out that they will reimburse us for the exterminator(s). Last the GM told me is their talking to their insurance agency. What makes me mad the most is one of their employees admitted to my wife they have had a complaint about the very same room a month ago and just recently had a meeting about it....but hadnt treated the room! Another told my wife that two weeks ago, on another floor, they had to throw out numerous mattresses. We flew back a week ago thursday, had the bite marks that following monday morning....had Orkin out yesterday (wednesday), they found a nymph on our mattress...I had previously found an adult and nymph in our lint trap on our dryer. My wife and I and 4 yr old all have numerous bites (we havent bothered counting) but surprisingly they havent attacked my infant yet thank God.

I talked to a friend who said several years ago he didnt get very good service from Orkin and that they county extension office had told him to do the "sealing prcoess", the bleach washing, and putting eucalyptus leaves around the house. Since I have a mobile infant I am very reluctant to leave much of anything within his reach...which seems to grow longer each day. I havent been able to find anything about using eucalyptus leaves, which I already dont plan on using since I dont want my baby ingesting any of them. Also is the "sealing process" mention the same as using a encasement and putting clothes in sealed bags?

Anyone used Orkin as a PCO before? I know that each area's orkin people are probably going to be different. I;ve read about wanting a PCO who will do two treamtents but Orkin has only scheduled one (I already paid them) but said they can come back out within their "30 day guarantee".
