Yes, I too am only using plastic bags as I'm still in the middle of treatments. It is breaking my heart to throw away my beautiful wicker baskets that I use for extra towels and laundry.....and the wooden hamper in the kids bathroom kept everything so neat....I'm losing my mind. sorry to whine, I'm just feeling awful about throwing all this stuff out.....

Another temporary hamper possibility if you don't want to just keep your dirty clothes in a plastic bag (which is what I do as well) would be one of those canvas ones. You could just throw that in the washer and dryer along with the clothes.

I don't know about the bean bag chair either. What's the interior encasement that holds the "beans" in made of . . . is there anyplace that looks like the bed bugs could get in (holes, stitches that are loose, a zipper that might not be entirely closed?

There was another thread just about wicker
http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/wicker-furniture#post-37463
and it was deemed practically impossible.
The wicker manufacturers had better start funding pesticide research.

I can't comment on bean bag chairs because I have had no experience.

Re: the Wooden hamper - if I were you, I would decontaminate it (steam, wash, etc.) and when you are sure it is okay, use it temporarily for something else - maybe it would like to be an end table for a change. Then use a cheaper white plastic hamper for a while that will be easier to check and clean.

Hope this helps - sure is easier to give advice than to take it. I'm not even using a hamper right now. Just plastic bags, and more plastic bags.

Hi, I was wondering how folks feel about bean bag chairs....I can take the outer matarial off and wash it yet again but should I be concerned that the inner part has eggs. Should I just chuck it.....and what about hampers. I have an expensive wood hamper in my kids bathroom and a very nice wicker one in my bathroom. Should I throw those out also....boo hoo....my house is certainly becoming less and less cluttered....

yes, saw your reply and I'm worried as well....could be getting reinfested, I don't work outside the home but my husband does altho he works in a small office and hasn't notice anything there or heard others complain, my daughter is away at college (I don't even want her home for the holidays till this is gone) my son is home and until recently was coming in and out constantly with friends...I told most of them about the prob and none of them have noticed anything at their homes.... as of last week I stopped him from having friends over, cancelled his drum teacher but don't want to cancel the SAT tutor....My feeling is that they should have done 3 consequtive treatments. I used Orkin (big name big co. ) But maybe there is someone better....

I worry when someone in a detached single family home has had 3 treatments and still has bed bugs.

Thanks, I'm asking because I have been packing up all my other books etc but the PCO did not seem to think packing up the kitchen was necessary. I'm skeptical but also don't relish all the work it will take to pack it all up....

PCOs differ as far as what they require in terms of prep for treatment. You need to ask them what they expect because your agreement is with them. They have different protocols re: packing things up, or not.

Are folks having their kitchens and bathrooms treated as well? Does this mean packing up ALL the cookbooks, cloth napkins, placemats etc.? I live in a large single family home 3 floors plus a basement.
