nightvision007,

We can't help you find a lawyer, but reading some of the past cases in this FAQ might help you find out about past cases, and get some names of lawyers involved in them.

Bed bugs will bite whether the light's on or not. They will even bite in the daytime if you are not there at night.

We have a FAQ about who pays for treatment, but it does not cover Hawai'i yet. You need to call the local housing department or a local tenants' rights group. Ask for advice. Local news articles often mention this aspect of the issue, too.

If you have further questions, please come to the forums (as per the post above the comments): click here.

Actually, no, ann2. Entomologists who study bed bugs tell us boric acid does not work well on bed bugs. It kills roaches when they ingest it; bed bugs won't eat it because they only eat one thing: your blood. They do not lick their feet.

Diatomaceous earth does kill bed bugs (see FAQs-->treatment for a FAQ on that). But it can take a long time and professionals usually use a combination of pesticides and dusts to fight them more efficiently.

Thanks for trying to help. If I sound grumpy it's because bed bugs can be difficult to treat--much more so than roaches, ants, everything else. (Think termites and you are getting there, except termites don't crawl into your bed and feed on you.) If it were as easy as boric acid, do you think this website would even exist?

I've been reading some of these posts and I wonder if you know that Boric Acid kills ALL bugs. roaches, everything. You can buy containers of it at Home Depot and many other stores.........sprinkle it on matress's, floorboards, where ever there is a bug problem.........

Hi bugbasher,

As the post above explains, please repost your message in the forums where you are bound to get many responses:
http://bedbugger.com/forum/

That said, I would ask where you live? Unless you own your own home, there's a good chance someone else is responsible for paying (namely, the landlord). Moreover, if you are in a multi-unit building and a neighbor gave you bed bugs, they will keep coming unless the other units are dealt with. Please respond in the forums/repost there, and we can chat more.

Hey, I really liked Tony's idea! the only thing I would do in addition to the heating pad and fake co2 is plop a nice big ,bloody steak on the heating pad! OK,here's my question: I got diagnosed yesterday and haven't slept since.I can't afford to have a pro come out,but what I lack in money I make up for with friends and family.I haven't done anything except stay up all night to see what I could see.P.S.- I caught 3 bugs coming out of my pillow? At least they were crawling on it.I have to say they are not very fast, thank God.I have them in pill bottles encased in a plastic bag in the freezer.I'm awaiting my shipment of chemicals:Phantom,an industrial strength quick kill(D-force I think is the name), a growth regulator, and drione dust.It should be here in a couple of days. The problem is I'm afraid to go to the bed after what I saw last night. Can I vacuum the bed tonight or do I risk having them scatter before the chems come?I want to do this right, not thwart myself. To vacuum tonight or not?My dogs are always in the bed.I hear they taste like chicken, lol. Please someone get back to me cause if I shouldn't vacuum, the dogs will be in the bed and I'll sleep in the bathtub!I'm doubting they will find me in there...
