This video is from the University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department does a fairly good job of showing signs of bed bugs.
- The music is unnecessarily creepy (and since there’s no audio narrative, I would encourage you to mute the audio)!
- Some of the closeups are disturbing, though they are also educational.
- There’s no attention paid to the visual differences between different stages of bed bug (as Lou Sorkin does such a good job of reminding us, it’s essential that people know how to identify fed and unfed first instar bed bug nymphs as well as adults, and other intermediate life stages). If you are trying to learn about bed bugs, be sure and view the photos here of various life stages of bed bugs, fed and unfed.
Still, I think it might help someone who is trying to learn to inspect a room for bed bugs.
