in bed bugs, fun

The Doonesbury crew have got bed bugs.

Or is it just a bed bug scare?

The saga seems to have begun tentatively yesterday, as I noted in our forums.

And today, not surprisingly, the story continues.

Check out these Doonesbury strips:

It’s Friday and it’s still terribly tame.

Can you keep the link handy?

CP,

Knowing Doonesbury, they could go on this way for months.

You can always get to recent posts by going to the list (“Recent Posts” in the sidebar.

Or go to the main page (Bedbugger.com) and scroll down.

What does it all mean? Why bedbugs? What deep social or political meaning could bedbugs have?

Beck,

Bed bugs are spreading like wildfire. I’m not sure about their deeper social or political meaning, but it makes sense they’d make their way into the world of comics too.

I know this sounds paranoid, but what if terrorists are doing this? Or, what if our soldiers have brought some back from the war? Not blaming our heroes, here!!! I don’t think it’s all about “international travel increasing”, etc. I think it may be something we don’t think about.

Personally (I’m no expert by any means) I would suspect some survived in remote areas feeding on animals; but, the “international travel” notion has some merit. The thing is, apparently no one has determined where, overseas, Americans would flock wholesale and pick them up.

Make it “what if terrorists think of doing this,” and I don’t see paranoid thinking.
