Media Bistro’s AgencySpy blog says that there may be bed bugs at MediaVest (whose New York City office is at 1675 Broadway).
AgencySpy shared a memo which said that employees on two floors were being evacuated for Thursday and Friday of this week, until bed bug treatments could occur on the weekend:
Unfortunately I’ve been told that all employees on the 7th and 13th floor are being asked to work from home tomorrow and Friday — in advance of treatments this Saturday. No live bugs have been found — however for a building this size, this is standard procedure.
[Emphasis mine.]
The memo also clarified,
This is not an emergency — just a smart precaution.
