Muhsana,

I am so sorry you're going through this, especially along with the loss of a loved one.

From your description, it is impossible to say if bed bugs caused your itchy welts. It could also be fleas. It could be scabies (which spreads easily and can be picked up from someone else's home). It may also be other mites or other health conditions entirely. But it certainly could be bed bugs.

You need to see a doctor to try and rule out folliculitis, scabies, body lice and other conditions.

You also should have a pest control professional with lots of experience with bed bugs inspect your home for this and other pests which can cause bites.

Bed bugs do not live on your body or in clothing, though they may hang out in clothing between washings. Bed bugs mainly live in your home and in your stuff. They bite and then go away to hide and rest until they need to feed again.

If you rent, your local laws may require the landlord to pay for treatment.

Please read the FAQs, consider following the suggestions above, and come to the Bedbugger forums if you need more feedback: http://bedbugger.com/forum/

Good luck and good wishes to you -- I hope you find the cause and are able to get rid of it very soon.

My sister was passing from cancer and I went to stay with my neice to
help take care of her. I had been sleeping on the couch.I went home every
other day to take a shower, but after my sister died I went home to mourn
by myself, my back started to itch, then I had all these bite marks on my back,
I cant stop scraching, and I have a lot of scars and scabs on my back. I have A
dog and he sleeps on the bed, now he is scraching. I would like to know if this is from
bedbugs?

Hi Kesha,
Sorry you have bed bugs.
Yes, they can travel from one house to another in your stuff.

We have a FAQ on dealing with bites here: http://bedbugger.com/faqs/skin/

And another on preventing their spread as you travel, here: http://bedbugger.com/faqs/travel/

If you need more advice, please come to our forums: http://bedbugger.com/forum/

My daughter and I just came back from a trip visiting family. Well the last day that we were there which was yesterday we noticed red bumps on our arms, legs, back and feet. We showed our relative whose house we were staying at and we asked them if they had Bed Bugs and they said that it was probably Mosquito bites. I wasn't happy with the response and did my research online and we have been bitten by Bed Bugs. What can I put on these red bumps for them to go away and can bed bugs travel from one house to another in your luggage and clothes?
Thank you

Christine,

Can you take a close-up photo and post it online (for free) at a site like flickr.com, and send us a link?

Alternatively, you need to get your pest identified by an entomologist. University extension services often offer this service.

If you have more questions or want support, please come to the forums. Click the blue button at top right which says "Forums".

For the past week I've been waking up with these hive-like bug bites on my legs and ankles. When i wore longer pants and socks it stopped . So I thought there might be bed bugs in my bed. After I looked I found these small black beetle things . There not reddish-brown like bed bugs though. I also found some larva looking bugs that move really fast. It's really disgusting. Does some one know what these bugs are?

IME bed bugs either like to play dead when they sense someone is close, or they hibernate or something and take some time to wake up unless you poke them with something that's on fire.

Best recommendation is to teach them how to play dead properly :P
