Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
God will appreciate it.

S Burlinson,

Good question!

Toronto has serious bed bug problems, but so do many cities including New York, Boston, and many more.

My own town, NYC, has a booming tourist trade despite the fact that people are starting to realize how bad a problem bed bugs are. By all appearances, the government and industry are still blissfully in denial.

RobM,
It's probably in his/her best interest financially to do so rather than risk having tenants not treat or undertreat.

Thanks nobug! I'm in Toronto, and fortunately our landlord has agreed (grudgingly) to covering the treatment.

It depends where you are, Rob. And even then, it can be complicated. See our FAQ on this.

Are landlords responsible for the cost of bed bug treatment?

Hi Toronto realtor,
Thanks for your comment. From what we hear, there are lots of bed bugs in Toronto. Apparently the city council and Chief Medical Officer both think so.

I am confused: were you trying to persuade customers to rent or buy bed bug-infested properties? Or were you trying to convince them -- after they had rented or bought properties with bed bugs -- that they could get rid of them?
