Mr. K, a North Carolina bed bug dog, in action
By nobugsonme on Feb 26, 2008 in bed bug dog, bed bugs, bedbugs, canine, detect bed bugs, k9
Click here for footage from WBTV News 3 shows Mr. K working with bed bug dog handler Mike Rogers, in North Carolina.
And can anyone tell us which outfit trained Mr. K?
The news story is imperfect otherwise, but wanted to share this because people are always looking for ways of detecting bed bugs.
(Thanks, insomnia, for the tip!)

It’s amazing how fast false advertisement spreads. This is not the only bed bug k9 in the state. Specialized Pest Detection is located in NC and their dogs are NEDSCA certified.

Yes, Paula, I caught that too. There are multiple bed bug dogs in NC.

Thanks for the support Paula & Nobugs. I was kind of surprised at the commentary on that, as that handler was informed by several people prior to picking up his dog about us, and NESDCA. Actually there are now 3 other bedbug canines (counting our 2) in North Carolina, as there is one down on the coast as well. For any paying attention to the video the dog in the video is cross trained on termites and bedbugs, so unfortunately, it can not certify under NESDCA rules. We will see if the station does a correction.
