And all over Craigslist.
Craigslist reader BOB warned fellow Craigslisters (namely residents of Oakville and the Waterbury area) to beware:

Check out http://www.bedbugger.com Don’t pick up stray furniture or people. It spreads fast takes up to a year before people realize they have a problem then if they are a tenant it takes another 2 months to start treatments then people throw thier furniture on the street. ITs a spreading nightmare and of course nobody is talking but the exterminators are making a fortune. WHy because they are impossible to get rid of. THey crawl in holes. survive or even if they get them all you probably infected someone familiar to you who reinfects you. Oh and how many family things have you gone too when they take you jacket and throw it on a bed…with everone elses Merry christmas from waterbury….and happy itching f—ing new year….BOB

I cleaned up a word. You can see the glorious original by clicking on the screenshot above (then choose “All Sizes” and then “Large”). The original was here and may still be.
We don’t know BOB, but we know why he’s angry.

Someone else is currently doing this in Toronto (in the furniture ads). I don’t want to link to it or it may be pulled, but I can tell you it has brought 100 people here over the weekend, and doubtless educated many more about this problem. Nice work, anonymous Toronto person.
Caution: Don’t let the bed bugs bite

There is a growing bed bug problem in Toronto. Not everyone reacts to the bites so it is possible not to know there is a problem. Bugs and eggs can travel on furniture, clothing, and picture frames and can make their way from one apartment to another. The bugs are very small so once they are established they are difficult to eradicate because they can hide in very narrow spaces.
Please be careful to check items carefully when you buy them or rescue them from the curb. There may be a reason the item is being thrown out or the seller may not be aware of any problem. Infestations have nothing to do with cleanliness but there is a stigma attached to having bed bugs. People may not be willing to spraypaint “bed bugs” on that couch or mattress at the curb in front of their house.

I’ve had bed bugs for over 5 months.I moved out of my place and am staying with a friend who now has them too. He didn’t listen to me when i told him to make sure to store my 20 bags of laundry in his OUTDOOR storage and plunked them in his livingroom. Now that I’m here he just told me that “Oh yeah, I didn’t put them outside cos I didn’t want the mice to get them” We are so infested now I look so horrible from lack of sleep. I’m planning on making a documentry, if anyone wants to b part of it i.e: be interviewed, help tech wise or have a camera and some film know-how contact me at jfergie1@hotmail.com These stories have GOT to be told! Here’s to an itch free night Cheers!

Biteme,
Yuo’re likely to get more attention to your posts if you put them on our forums, rather that in old comment threads on unrelated topics.

Posting your email online is also a very bad idea spam-wise (and the forums have a mail system you can use instead).
