Bed Bug Murder
By nobugsonme on Dec 21, 2007 in 1920s, Valmor, bed bug murder, bedbugs, charles campbell, etsy, label, treatment
Someone was selling this old 1920s Valmor Bed Bug Murder “pesticide” label for $10 on Etsy. It was scooped up.
It says,
Bed bugs are terrible. They spread Disease and Discomfort to Human Beings. BED BUG MURDER is deadly effective. Active ingredients 100%
Whatever those ingredients were, they were likely not effective, if the ad is right that this is from the 1920s.
The “Disease” claim may be aimed at selling bottles, or may be based on genuine concerns of the period, such as those raised by Charles Campbell’s studies, now considered controversial.

Wonderful design. Who wouldn’t buy that, then or now?
