More concern about bed bugs from Pace University students–this time residents of the privately-run Educational Housing Service’s St. George residence.

More bed bug sightings have been documented this week at Pace University. Students are being forced to leave thier rooms for up to two weeks at a time to have them exterminated. It is a serious problem and needs to be adressed.

Hi Trish,
Thanks for your message. Evacuating rooms is not always the best idea, because people will often move the bed bugs to their new location.
Also, pest control professionals generally prefer to have someone sleep in the room so bed bugs will be lured out to feed, cross poison, and die.
That sounds gross, but the alternative can mean they hang out for two weeks, and come out to bite you when you move back into the room.
