<description>Well said NoBugs. Blame and denial will contribute to this pest becoming as ubiquitous as it was pre WWII or possibly worse, due to the globe-trotting travel habits of 21st century human society and the lack of a pest control panacea.

But I think it will take an obvious public health connection for it to be taken seriously in the broader context by Government during this current climate of Corporate dominance. Otherwise civil courts and local governments will be fighting rear guard actions for years.</description>

<description>"....says the resurgence of bedbugs in the U.S. has “had a minimal impact on the vast majority of hotels, which maintain state-of-the-art sanitation and adhere to strict standards of cleanliness,” adding, for good measure: “Bedbugs are brought into hotels by guests; it is not a hotel sanitation issue.""

Didn't I just read an article stating that some hotels don't even change the bed linens after every guest? You call this clean "state-of-the-art.....strict standards of cleanliness...."? Gross. "...it is not a hotel sanitation issue." Well, it's not a sanitation issue, period. Bedbugs like all types of blood whether your house is clean or not, whether you takes showers or not. Blood is blood.

Nobugs is right, stop the blame game and let's fight the real enemy. The hotel industry, by placing blame, is in denial and trying to prevent and inevitable downfall in the industry, IMO.

The reason why industries and people are doing the blame game is because there is no other choice. There are no easy answers and placing blame is easy thus far in this war. I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying it's easy.

I know I was scared to tell my super about my infestation. I thought they would blame me, consider me and my family dirty, etc. But, fortunately, none of that happened. Not all people are that understanding.
