August 31, 2007

Thanks to our Anonymous commenter today who suggested this: A great “side table” for Bedbuggers: it’s really a thick glass vase turned upside down. “Take me please, I’m not infested”

August 31, 2007

That’s the plea on a discarded sofa, the photo of which is posted on the wonderfully-named Greenpoint blog, newyorkshitty.com. What the authors of the sign do not know is, just because they do not feel any bites, doesn’t mean you won’t. Many people don’t react to bed bug bites. Caveat curb-shopper!

August 30, 2007

I was perplexed by this article from August 20th in the Times (London, not New York) about the spread of bed bugs, mainly because it was only about the bed bug epidemic in the USA. Times reporter Chris Ayres writes from Los Angeles, Five decades after being declared officially dead, the most toe-curling of all […]

NPR’s Morning Edition: not blasting any preconceptions about bed bugs

August 23, 2007

Bed bugs were the subject of a report on Morning Edition this morning. While it is always good that bed bugs are in the news, I have a few issues with the way this story was presented. First, NPR fell into the trap of describing bed bug bites as if they always look the same: […]
