Bedbugger.com still anonymous… never fear!

Hey folks,

I have had one alarmed message from a Bedbugger already — that the “Tip Jar” (new, right sidebar) knew his/her name. What is this? It’s a system where you can make a donation, if you ever feel you want to. It’s run by Amazon, and if you’ve been to amazon.com before, they will “recognize you” on this site and say “Hi John Smith!” This is totally on their end, and nothing on this site is recognizing or recording your name. If you want confirmation of that click “How do we know you?” under the Amazon Honor System logo, and read what Amazon says about their goofy greetings (and how to make them stop, if you like!)

It’s creepy the first time you see it–I remember that. Especially if you are on bedbugger.com and Do Not Want to Be Seen.

Fear not: Amazon can see you, because of cookies stored from the last time you visited them. But I can’t, and they’re not going to tell me who you are. Even if you make a donation, they won’t tell me who it was from, unless you click a button to request that they tell me who donated. (Though I hope you’ll consider dropping me an email if you do donate, so I can thank you!)

The other option was PayPal, which does not offer anonymous donations, so I skipped that.

Please don’t feel any pressure to donate. Everything here is for whoever needs it. But a few people have asked if I could put up a donation link, and so I did.
