The bottom line is that the facts stand on their own merit..facts without opinion and emotion.....When used responsibly...DDT was the cheapest and best pesticide that had been put on the market. That is why, in 2006, the ban was lifted in Africa. Bayer Science, the makers of Suspend ( the chemical that has to be put down at least 3 - 6 times to maybe kill bed bugs), lobbied against lifting the DDT ban in Africa, figure it out. People should take off their emotional blinders. Manhattan used to be an island filled with wildlife, and clean waters. Now it's filled with skyscrapers and streets. Humans can't go back in time, they go forward. In a perfect world everything would be pure. DDT was given a very bad name by some very emotional lobbying, because it was used and dumped, irresponsibly. It was a knee-jerk, emotional decision to ban it....Whenever there are dollar signs there are hiddens..Lots of people are getting rich on this bed bug epidemic. This should be of big concern to all of us. Is it going to be the bug that only those with money can eradicate ??

Some Guy, read the thread in the Focus section called DDT vs. Rachel Carlson. I'm with you, but apparently there are some who are not. It's interesting.

DDT is the answer to this problem, just like it was when bedbugs were first eradicated in north America. Rachel Carson's junk-science screed has been killing millions of people through malaria infections ever since the EPA director overruled his own administrative judge who had concluded after six months of hearings that DDT was harmless.

It appears that the Pest control person (PCO, PMP) was more interested in having his few minutes of online fame, maybe getting a little publicity for his company, and nothing else. He failed miserably.
