They're up. Look under "bite photos" in the banner links or "Photos" in the sidebar links.

I am happy to do this, S.

And there's no need to wait until the new site is up. I'll post a message about it.

In case anyone is interested, the new site is temporarily held up a bit-- while I was able to migrate the posts and comments to the new server, there are some problems. The internal links in a post or in the comments where we say "See this FAQ" and a link to the relevant FAQ--those internal links don't work.

I don't expect the new site to be in a perfect state when it's rolled out, but those internal links are frequent and important, since they often send newcomers for crucial information. I know people read old posts, so I don't want to go live until I find a solution. It may be a problem with the software, and the solution may be going through and painstakingly changing every internal link with bedbugger.wordpress.com to bedbugger.com.

We've only been going for just over 5 months but we have 210 posts and almost 1700 comments, so you can imagine why I am waiting to see if I can find an easier option!

Hey Nobugs, I think the Flickr option seems perfectly fine. Is there/will there be a link to it from bedbugger?

I don't mind if people link to my photos, as long as I remain anonymous. I'd only request that you encourage others to send you their photos, so that it can become a useful collection. How do you feel about doing that?

You could just have a link to it in the Photos & Video section.

Hi S,
I appreciate your suggestions for the new site!
Photos are tricky, since putting them on the site uses up space and bandwidth (= my hosting bills are higher).

There's a solution, though. Nobugsonme has a flickr page. If you don't want to start a second anonymous flickr account (which you could do with a second email), you can email them to me and I can put them on mine.

Realize that any photos on the site will be public in the sense that others can see and link to them. There are people out there linking to Caryn's bite photos and not giving her credit, which is seriously against copyright laws, as well as irritating (and I think more irritating because bite photos are so intimate... that's your body!)

Anyway, if people want to share this with just "subscribers" who "join" our new site, that's an option in terms of people not surfing in and seeing them HERE. But at flickr, they'll have to be public or they can't be linked to via the website.

But if I host them all directly on the website, it will be costly. (And even if I just host a few, people will link to them anyway, which besides violating copyright, steals your bandwidth and costs lots of money to the host.)

Does this make sense? Does the flickr option seem helpful or do you have other suggestions?

Hey Nobugs, is it possible for the new site to have a place for readers to submit their photos? I would love to send in/post up photos of my bites, photos of my various treatment strategies, etc. But I don't want to put them on Flickr, where my friends and family will be grossed out and/or surprised. (Not everyone knows about this).

I'd also love to see other peoples' photos. I know lots of people take photos, but don't post them because they don't have a website, don't want to make them public, etc.

Is that feasible with the new site?
