bad news: APictureofMe’s Caryn’s got bed bugs, again

One of the pioneer bed bug bloggers has bed bugs again, after first getting them over 2.5 years ago, since which time she’s been bed bug-free.
A Toronto paper said last summer that in 5 years (4 now, I guess) “bed bugs will be as common as mice and roaches.” We’re getting there.
We need more activism. Better pesticides. At the very least an education campaign to make it less likely someone brings these into your building, again and again.
Mayor Bloomberg, are you listening?

To my knowledge, this is the first official reinfestation, on this Blog and the Yahoo Group, that did not come from moving. I hope and pray that you can get rid of them as fast as possible Caryn, if for nothing else than your peace of mind. And who amongst us doesn’t count peace of mind as a necessary factor to function properly in everyday life. As others have said, you are now better equipped to deal with them. I hope your bldg. management handles it with the expediency, and the due concerns necessary. And I hope you take all the good advice, and info that has been given out by fellow sufferers , and use it to your advantage. My heart goes out to you…Deb

First, I’d like to give Caryn my support, and I’m so sorry for the re-infestation. I just cleaned around my desk (where I think they may be harboring since I am still being bitten) with 50% diluted Murphy Oil soap and a paper towel. Nothing dropped out DOA from anywhere, that I could tell. But I did pick up a sesame seed sized off white oval shaped “thing” in the paper towel, and put it in a baggy for the PCO to look at. Any ideas anyone?

first off, my heart goes out to this wonderful lady who is sadly reinfested…may this pass quickly with the smallest of losses.
well folks, I’ve been saying we will be reinfested repeatedly on this blog…I gues I’m not far from right on this matter.
Hey Mayor Bloomberg, how about you come sit down on my couch and we can talk about how easy it is to get rid of bedbugs with just some spraying of chemicals?
