New York City is behind in the bed bug wars

This photo by grenade on flickr shows the bed bug tags residents of Boston are given to put on discarded furniture.
It occurs to me that we should print and sell (not for profit) some similar tags, that those of us outside Boston could use until our localities get it together and legislate to stop the spread of this epidemic. Cafepress.com is too expensive ($2.45 a sticker!). If anyone knows of another source that will print stickers for us and send them out in batches of 15 or 30 (’cause I am thinking we could all plaster our garbage and recycling bags with them too), let me know. We could include a picture, a warning in English and Spanish, and a few instructions (and a link to the blog and yahoo group, perhaps, for more information).
Where I am, the trash is picked over thoroughly by some people in the neighborhood who must surely have bed bugs by now.

See this tag? It’s what is helping residents of Boston reduce the spread of bed bugs. The photo was taken in November 2004, so this is something Boston has been doing for a very long time.
Can we get something like this going in New York City? And some legislation that says its illegal to remove the tag, or take the furniture?
Boston appears to be managing its epidemic better than New York. So is Lexington, KY, which puts us to shame.
Residents of any other cities want to weigh in on what’s being done where you are?

This is a template for a bumpersticker you can customize. I used their “Warning” and added “May Contain Bedbugs”. Unfortunately these are on the expensive side.

Yes–looks to be about $5 a sticker. Something could be done much more cheaply, if we were going to buy lots of them.
